This will see people change their profile pictures on social media to the tricolour. The Campaign is part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav” celebrations. The Ministry of Culture has also launched a website where people can pin tricolours on their social media profiles, which will be considered a virtual hoisting of the national flag. As of Thursday, over 12.5 million people have pinned tricolours on their social media accounts.

The national flag is meant to inspire patriotism in the people and instill a sense of nationalism. As part of the Government of India’s “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative, the Centre has shared a guide for folding the Tricolour. The campaign aims to promote patriotism among citizens, and will be held from August 13 to 15 to help bring awareness about the importance of hoisting the tricolour at home.
