In some cases, it makes sense to avoid an overly decorated design. The best approach is usually to use a clear photograph, select a popular flavour and choose a short message that can be easily read. Before ordering, it is useful to think about the number of guests, orientation of the photograph and the preparation time needed for the selected design.

Choose a Photo Cake That Fits the Occasion

There are different options for different celebrations. A portrait photo is usually used when one person is highlighted, while a collage photo can be ordered when several memories are to be depicted in the same design. The below-mentioned guide may help you order the appropriate design.

For a birthday party, you can order photo cakes that complement our birthday cakes. You can also order a shared photo cake for couples to make our anniversary cakes look even more personal. Make sure the photograph remains the central element of the cake design.

How to Order a Photo Cake Online in Chennai

Ordering becomes easier when the photograph and delivery information are prepared in advance. Following these steps helps to minimize cropping problems or any other unexpected changes.

1. Choose the cake design: Select a round, square, heart-shaped or rectangular design according to the photograph and the occasion.
2. Choose the flavour and weight: Select a flavour the recipient will like and a size that fits the expected number of guests.
3. Upload the photograph: Use the option to upload the image on the product page and avoid submitting screenshots or highly compressed files.
4. Enter the personal details: Add the name, age, date or short message exactly as it will be shown on the cake.
5. Find out about the delivery PIN code: See whether the chosen product is available with the required delivery option in Chennai.
6. Check everything before payment: Recheck the spelling, photograph and delivery date because they matter for a customised order.

Use the Correct Photograph for a Clear Edible Print

The final print can be no clearer than the submitted photograph. A high-resolution photograph with good lighting is better than an enlarged screenshot. Generally, JPG and PNG files can be used. If possible, choose an image that is at least 1500 pixels on its smallest side and depicts the subject clearly.

• Prefer an original photograph taken with a camera to a screenshot from the social network;
• Select the photograph where faces are well-lit and in focus;
• Do not place faces or text on the edges of the photograph;
• Use a landscape photograph for most rectangular cakes;
• Use square or portrait crops for round and square cakes;
• Avoid using several filters before uploading the photograph because colours may be changed during the printing process;
• Leave some room for cropping when the proportions of the photograph and cake are different.

Small colour differences between the image viewed on a mobile device and the print are acceptable. If the photograph depicts several faces, choose a bigger cake surface or a rectangular design to prevent the faces from becoming too small. In case you want to know more about the printing process, read the how a photo cake can be made at home guide.

Single-Photo, Collage and Themed Photo Cake Designs

A single-photo cake draws attention to one image and is the clearest option for birthdays, farewells and achievements. A collage photo cake combines several memories and is better for anniversaries, milestone birthdays and family celebrations. As every photograph occupies less space in a collage, use only the photographs that can say something meaningful.

A themed photo cake combines the edible photograph with the design elements related to the recipient. They can be hearts for an anniversary, stars for an achievement, a number for a milestone birthday or the colours related to a favourite hobby. The theme should complement the photograph and not compete with it. In case a short message is to be added to the cake, it should be done on the cake board or near the photograph when the selected design allows this.

Flavours, Shapes and Sizes for Photo Cakes

Personalisation can go beyond the photograph. Depending on the product, photo cakes may be available in such popular flavours as chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla, pineapple, red velvet or fruit. Choose the required product and see the available flavours and eggless variants.

Round cakes are better for single portraits and couple photographs. Square cakes offer a bit more space for the print, while rectangular cakes are useful for group photographs, landscape images and collages. Heart-shaped cakes are usually used for romantic occasions, although the photograph will require cropping in most cases.

Choose the cake weight depending on the celebration rather than based on the appearance. Some cake designs may have less space for printing in the smallest weight variant. When several faces or a collage require being visible, selecting the bigger size may produce a more readable result.

Photo Cake Delivery across Chennai

Photo cake delivery in Chennai can simplify your plans for a surprise gift delivered at the recipient's home, office or celebration venue. The delivery may depend on the PIN code in places like Anna Nagar, Adyar, Velachery, T. Nagar, Porur, Tambaram and others. Enter the full delivery address to find out whether the chosen cake can be delivered there.

The available delivery options may include standard, fixed-time and midnight slots, depending on the product, preparation time and destination. The photo cake requires more preparation time than the ready-design cakes as the photograph has to be reviewed, cropped and printed. Ordering ahead of time allows more time to correct the unsuitable photograph and increases the chances of the preferred slot availability. When ordering urgently, use the delivery date and time displayed after entering the delivery PIN code and do not assume the immediate delivery of all designs.

Make the Personalization Simple and Meaningful

The best personalized cakes are easy to understand immediately. Use one photograph, one message and decorations related to the celebration. Multiple paragraphs, several names and several small images may make the cake hard to understand. In case a long message is needed, write it on a card instead of adding to the cake text.

Make sure you have permission to use the photograph, especially if it depicts children or has been taken by the professional photographer. Check the spelling of every name and date as any mistake will become obvious when depicted on the cake next to the personal photograph.
